Santiago Matías provides his support to Melvin TV and covers his medical expenses

Santo Domingo, RD - Businessman and communicator Santiago Matías showed his most supportive side by providing full support to the entertainment commentator Melvin Alexander Vicente, better known as Melvin TV, who is currently facing a delicate diagnosis of colon cancer. Despite the differences they both held in the past, Matías decided to leave the conflicts behind and announced that he will assume the medical expenses of Melvin's surgical intervention, in addition to managing his admission to the renowned Abreu Clinic. It should be remembered that days ago Santiago Matías had already collaborated with RD$100,000 pesos to contribute to the payment of his medical treatment.

Jessica Pereira, panelist of Alofoke Radio Show and close friend of Melvin TV, acted as an intermediary between the two and was the person through whom the businessman sent the initial economic contribution.

During the live broadcast on Wednesday night on Alofoke Radio Show, Santiago Matías, after concluding an interview with Michael Flores, asked Jessica about Melvin's health condition. She replied that his condition is delicate and explained that he needed to undergo a colonoscopy, which was not possible due to his critical state. Pereira detailed that Melvin is very thin, dehydrated, with difficulty performing his basic needs and with serious additional health problems, including the need to have surgery on his leg. Added to this is his cancer diagnosis and an advanced state of physical weakness. Jessica took the opportunity to publicly thank Santiago Matías for his act of solidarity, as well as to share a message of gratitude sent by Melvin, who valued the support received despite the differences they both had in recent times. Likewise, he explained the high cost of the medical process that Melvin is facing, pointing out that the cost of the nurse alone is around RD$50,000 pesos, not including medications, treatments, and the multiple surgical interventions he needs. He highlighted in particular a serious situation in his left leg, which is inflamed, purple, and in worrying condition. Visibly moved, Santiago Matías asked if the Plaza de la Salud, the center where Melvin is hospitalized, has the necessary resources to adequately attend to his case. Jessica replied that the medical and nursing staff treats him "like a king", but that the main problem is the center's resource limitations. As an example, she mentioned that a surgery scheduled for six in the afternoon that day could not be performed due to lack of an available operating room. Faced with this situation, Santiago Matías took the initiative and stated: "Let's do the following. I have very good friends; the Abreu Clinic is where I go for treatment. Off the record, Jessica, I have a task for you: go and check everything. If no progress has been made with the surgery, if there is no date or anything clear, we are going to move Melvin to the Abreu Clinic. I will take care of everything: room, doctors, professionals, the whole matter. We are going to try to improve this result so that Melvin does not have any type of complication or delay due to lack of resources." Santiago's gesture was applauded and recognized on social media, because despite his differences with Melvin, he offered his helping hand.
