However, the highest incidence occurs in babies under one year old, with a rate of 68.47 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Health authorities reported that, so far, 35 deaths associated with measles have been counted since the beginning of the spread in February of last year. According to the official report, these deaths have been recorded in ten entities of the country.
The immunization campaign against the viral disease is focused on girls and boys between 6 months and 12 years old, as they are the population at greatest risk.
