They hold a Dominican solidarity day: "Cuba is not alone"

Santo Domingo.- With a wide participation of organizations and various personalities from the academic, educational, cultural, social and political fields, the "Cuba is not alone" day was held in Independence Park, as part of the National Solidarity Campaign of the Dominican People with the brotherly Cuban people. The day is part of an international action that took place in various countries in Latin America, the Caribbean and the world, highlighting the resistance of the Cuban people against the prolonged economic and oil embargo imposed by the United States, a measure that has suffocated the island's development for decades and has limited access to essential resources. In that context, the Dominican people's support for Cuba was reaffirmed, highlighting its example of dignity and resistance. The prominent left-wing leader Manuel Salazar expressed that "this day is not just a symbolic act, but a manifestation of the highest solidarity with the Cuban people, against the Yankee aggression, by the North American imperialism" Salazar stated.

"The blockade against Cuba is a violation of the rights of a people who have demonstrated their solidarity with the world," he affirmed.

From his side, Roberto Payano asserted that "solidarity is a moral and political duty and that the Dominican people have decided to raise their voice to denounce the economic siege that for decades has tried to subdue Cuba, without succeeding, thanks to the firmness of its people". During the activity, the collection of supplies such as medical equipment, solar panels and food was promoted, aimed at contributing to the needs of the Cuban people. The day concluded with a call to strengthen the unity of Latin American and Caribbean peoples in the face of blockade policies, reiterating the central message of the campaign: "Cuba is not alone!".
