El Ejército israelí comenzará a demoler viviendas en aldeas del sur del Líbano

Jerusalén.- El ministro israelí de Defensa, Israel Katz, anunció este viernes que el Ejército comenzará la demolición de viviendas en aldeas del sur del Líbano, consideradas por Jerusalén como «puestos avanzados» del grupo chií Hizbulá.

«Las casas en las aldeas cercanas a la frontera en el Líbano, que en la práctica sirven como puestos avanzados de Hizbulá, serán demolidas siguiendo los modelos de Rafah y Khan Yunis en Gaza, para eliminar la amenaza que representan para las comunidades israelíes», dijo Katz en un videomensaje publicado en sus canales.

El ministro afirmó que el Ejército israelí mantendrá «el control de seguridad» sobre la zona situada al sur del río Litani (que representa aproximadamente un 8% del territorio del país vecino), y que no permitirá el regreso de los más de 600.000 residentes evacuados «hasta que se garantice la seguridad de los ciudadanos del norte de Israel».

Además, Katz afirmó que Israel continuará actuando «con contundencia» contra cualquier lanzamiento de cohetes desde el Líbano y que los operativos de Hizbulá que representen una amenaza «pagarán un alto precio».

El grupo libanés, uno de los principales aliados regionales de Irán, se enfrenta a Israel desde el pasado 2 de marzo en apoyo a Teherán, en su segunda guerra en apenas año y medio.

Israel, por su parte, mantiene una intensa campaña de bombardeos principalmente contra el sur y el este de Líbano, así como las afueras de Beirut, mientras desarrolla una invasión terrestre en la región más meridional de su territorio.

El Ministerio de Salud libanés ha elevado a más de 1.200 los muertos en el país por bombardeos israelíes, entre ellos 124 niños, desde el 2 de marzo.
