Government to announce measures in response to the impact of the war in the Middle East, according to AIRD

Santo Domingo.– The Government of the Dominican Republic will announce this Thursday a set of measures aimed at mitigating the economic effects derived from the war in the Middle East, after a process of dialogue and consensus with different national sectors. The information was provided by the president of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD), Julio Brache, who assured that the authorities have structured a plan to face the impact of the international crisis on the local economy. As explained, these actions have been the result of meetings held between the Government, business people and social actors, with the aim of establishing coordinated responses to the global scenario.

From his side, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and SMEs, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, stated that the Government has acted in an organized and planned manner, while calling not to politicize the situation. Authorities plan to officially present the measures once the working groups conclude, in a context marked by international uncertainty and the possibility that the conflict will be prolonged. The Government reiterated its commitment to protect the national economy and reduce the impact of this crisis on the Dominican population.
