Soler will be out of action until Sunday, when the Angels conclude their series against the San Diego Padres. The suspension originated after an incident that occurred on April 7 during a game against the Atlanta Braves at Angel Stadium, where a fight broke out involving several players from both teams. The conflict began after Soler hit a home run in his first at-bat against Dominican pitcher Reynaldo López and was later hit by a pitch. Tension increased after a high pitch in the fifth inning, which led to a verbal exchange before the outfielder ran towards the mound and initiated the physical confrontation. Both players threw punches, which caused the benches to empty and a brawl on the field. Both Soler and Lopez were ejected from the game. For his part, López also saw his suspension reduced, going from an initial suspension to five games after reaching an agreement with MLB. After the match, Soler explained that the reaction occurred after a comment he didn't like from the pitcher. "I asked him if everything was okay and I didn't like the answer he gave me," commented the player, justifying his reaction at the time. The incident marked a tense chapter between the two, who were briefly teammates in the 2024 season with the Braves, and highlighted the rivalry that arose on the field.
