The Madrid team took the lead early thanks to Vinícius Jr., who took advantage of a rebound inside the area to score in the 17th minute, in a start dominated by the visitors, who generated the first chances of the match. However, Betis grew as the minutes passed, gaining presence in midfield and generating constant danger, although they encountered an outstanding performance by goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, a key figure for Real Madrid for much of the match. Those led by Manuel Pellegrini insisted in the second half with arrivals of players like Antony, Bakambu and Cucho Hernández, while the white team was retreating lines and betting on defending their advantage. When it seemed that the three points were going with the visitors, Bellerín appeared in the 93rd minute to push the ball into the back of the net and decree the final tie, doing justice to what was shown by both teams on the field. The result leaves Real Madrid unable to secure victory in a complicated scenario, while Betis adds a valuable point after their insistence at the La Cartuja stadium.
