Las Galeras, Samaná. – Within the framework of the accountability held last Friday, April 24, the mayor of the Municipal District of Las Galeras, Ana Johaida Reyes Bello de Rijo, presented to the citizenry the main achievements and advances of her management, highlighting an administration based on commitment, organization and a clear vision of development.
During the event, which was attended by authorities, special guests, and municipal officials, important works that directly impact the progress of the community were highlighted.
Those present indicated that it was an impactful accountability, positively valuing the progress presented and the clarity with which the mayor presented each of the works and actions carried out for the benefit of the Municipal District of Las Galeras.
Among the main achievements, the construction of the Municipal Palace stood out, which already exceeds 80% completion, consolidating itself as a firm step towards the institutional strengthening of the city council.

Also, the renovation and roofing of the Priscila Bello court were highlighted, a work that promotes sports and healthy coexistence among the young people of the district. In terms of equipment, the mayor informed about the acquisition of a modern dump truck, managed through the Ministry of Tourism, strengthening the operational capacity of the council. Considering the development of youth, the current administration has promoted the implementation of technical courses, expanding the training and growth opportunities for community residents. One of the most significant achievements was the full payment for the Las Galeras play field, in coordination with deputy Cecilio García, with an investment exceeding 50 million pesos from the Central Government, ensuring that this space becomes a community asset. Similarly, the perimeter wall of the play area, affected by the rains, was intervened, as well as its general maintenance, in conjunction with the director of sports, Juan Carlos Díaz. In the service area, the municipal management has developed extensive lighting operations in different sectors, contributing to improve the safety and quality of life of the residents. In addition, a monitoring system was implemented using security cameras at strategic points, strengthening surveillance and public order. As a result of this set of actions, it was highlighted that the City Council of Las Galeras reached second place nationally in the SISMAP Municipal for the first time, a reflection of efficient, transparent, and organized management. The mayor reaffirmed her commitment to continue working hand in hand with the community, promoting initiatives that guarantee the sustainable development of the district. Las Galeras is moving forward steadily, guided by a close, responsible management focused on collective well-being.
