Child under two dies in raging fire in Honduras

The tragedy struck a family in the municipality of Belén Gualcho, in Ocotepeque, after the death of little Ricardo Noel García Cortez, just two years and two months old, was confirmed, who suffered severe burns during a fire in his home.

According to his father, Ricardo Noel García Corrales, the incident occurred while the family was having lunch inside the house. At one point, the child went to one of the rooms and, seconds later, they began to hear his screams.

Without thinking twice, García Corrales entered the flames to rescue his son, managing to get him out alive from the burning room.

The family maintained the hope that the little one would survive, but the injuries were fatal.

The tragedy has generated pain and outrage among the inhabitants of Ocotepeque.
