Senate socializes law on real estate intermediation and advertising

Santo Domingo.– The Senate of the Republic held a discussion on the bill that regulates intermediation and real estate advertising, with the aim of socializing its scope, impact and opportunities for the real estate sector in the Dominican Republic. The activity was led by Senator Rafael Barón Duluc, proponent of the initiative, who highlighted that the legislative piece seeks to strengthen security, transparency, and formality in the real estate market.

Duluc explained that the law is not directed against the sector, but in favor of responsible actors, ethical developers and investors who operate within the legal framework, while seeking to reduce informality and protect users.

The discussion included the participation of the Senate President, Ricardo de los Santos, as well as representatives from the real estate sector, legislators, and entrepreneurs linked to the industry. During the meeting, it was highlighted that the project seeks to regulate, supervise, and promote real estate intermediation, ensuring that transactions are carried out ethically, transparently, and in an orderly manner.

Likewise, the sustained growth of the real estate sector in the country was highlighted, driven by foreign investment, tourism development, and urban expansion, making it an important axis of the national economy. The initiative, already approved in the Senate, must now be considered by the Chamber of Deputies as part of the bicameral legislative process.
