JetBlue explains route cancellations from Newark and reinforces operations between Florida and Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.– JetBlue airline reported that the cancellation of its routes between Newark airport, in New Jersey, and the Dominican destinations of Santo Domingo and Punta Cana responds to a strategy aimed at strengthening air connectivity between Florida and the Dominican Republic.

The information was provided by Marty St. George, president of the company, who explained that the decision was made after evaluating the high demand in the Florida market, especially after the departure of the airline Spirit from several routes connecting both destinations. As the executive detailed, the aircraft that previously operated from Newark was reassigned to cover flights from Fort Lauderdale to the cities of Santiago and Santo Domingo, with the aim of increasing the availability of seats for passengers. "Due to Spirit's exit from that market, the route between Florida and the Dominican Republic was left with little offer and we needed to add more seats," said St. George.
