ProDominicana and APEC University launch master's degree in strategic management of international business

The Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana) and Universidad APEC (UNAPEC) officially launched the "Master's in Strategic Management of International Business," an academic proposal aimed at training professionals with comprehensive skills to face the challenges of the global economic environment.  

The activity, held in the auditorium of ProDominicana, brought together representatives from the academic, business, and governmental sectors, who highlighted the importance of strengthening Dominican human capital in areas related to foreign trade, investment attraction, and the internationalization of companies. 

During the event, the executive director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro Disla, stated that this master's degree constitutes an important step to continue promoting the country's competitiveness through specialized training.

This program is aimed at training professionals capable of leading international expansion strategies, attracting foreign direct investment and positioning Dominican companies in global markets”, he highlighted.

Furthermore, he added that in 2025, 127 training sessions were developed with 10,685 participants, and in 2026 we have already surpassed 4,200 participations, reaffirming our commitment to the technical preparation of Dominican talent.

For his part, the rector of Universidad APEC (UNAPEC), magíster Erik Pérez Vega, highlighted that the new Master's in Strategic Management of International Business represents an academic response to the growing demands of a global environment marked by competitiveness, digital transformation, and the internationalization of markets. During the launch event, held together with ProDominicana, Pérez Vega emphasized that this postgraduate proposal coincides with the 18th anniversary of UNAPEC's Bachelor's Degree in International Business, the first degree program with this focus in the Dominican Republic, thus consolidating almost two decades of training professionals linked to foreign trade, logistics, and exports.

The academic stated that the master's degree seeks to strengthen the strategic and analytical capacity of Dominican professionals, preparing them to interpret changes in the international environment and turn them into opportunities for sustainable growth for the country. Likewise, he highlighted the alliance between UNAPEC and ProDominicana as a model of articulation between academia, the public sector, and the business sector, aimed at boosting national competitiveness, attracting foreign investment, and integrating the Dominican Republic into global markets.

The conference included the keynote address titled "Companies in an Uncertain Global Environment: How to Adapt, Compete, and Grow," given by Roselyn Amaro Bergés, Executive Vice President of the Dominican Association of Exporters (ADOEXPO), who analyzed the impact of global uncertainty on the business sector and shared strategies to promote resilience, innovation, and the expansion of companies in international markets.

Likewise, Dr. Leonor Farray, Director of Postgraduate Studies at UNAPEC, presented the academic curriculum of the master's degree, highlighting its practical, strategic, and market-oriented approach. 

“The Master's Degree in Strategic Management of International Business has a total academic load of 40 credits. In addition, the program will last five semesters and will be made up of 13 subjects, integrating specialized knowledge in management, negotiation, international trade and decision-making, with the aim of strengthening the leadership and competitiveness of the participants in an increasingly dynamic and globalized economic environment.
