Abinader delivers 1,279 property titles in Haina on the eve of Mother's Day

Most of the people favored with the titles are women

San Cristóbal.– President Luis Abinader led this Saturday the delivery of 1,279 property titles to families from different communities in the country, benefiting 6,395 people, in an act that he described as a demonstration of the Government's commitment to legal security, the dignification of families and the reduction of social inequalities. During the activity, held in the municipality of Haina, the president highlighted that more than 700 of the titles delivered correspond to residents of this demarcation, while the other beneficiaries come from communities such as Jardines de Gautier, Villa Altagracia, Los Alcarrizos, Los Frailes, Los Mameyes, Maquiteria, Los Mina and Brisas de las Américas. He explained that the delivery of these documents provides legal security, peace of mind, and stability to the beneficiaries, who become legal owners of the land and homes they have occupied for years. The Head of State also highlighted the special significance of the day, as it was to be held on the eve of Mother's Day. He pointed out that the majority of the people favored with the titles are women, and therefore considered the delivery as a way to recognize, dignify, and provide greater peace of mind to Dominican mothers. "When a property title is delivered, security and hope are also delivered. As of today, these families have an asset that increases its value, allows them to access formal credit, expand their homes, start businesses, and guarantee a better future for their children," said the president. He also highlighted that the formalization of property significantly increases the value of real estate and opens up new economic opportunities for the beneficiary families, by allowing them to access bank financing and carry out transactions legally and securely.

Burgos Gómez explained that the program is part of the government's goal of delivering one million property titles during President Abinader's two terms. The official highlighted the joint work carried out by the Technical Unit for the Execution of Land Titling of the State (UTECT), National Assets, the CEA and the Real Estate Jurisdiction, institutions that have allowed progress in the regularization of properties and meet a historical demand of thousands of Dominican families.
