Santiago. – A young student took her own life this Monday by jumping from the roof of a four-story building, located on Yapur Dumit Avenue, in the Pekín sector, south zone of this city, right next to the police detachment of Marilópez.
The victim was identified as Paola Hernández Delgado, 27 years old, who died due to multiple traumas after falling into the void, presumably for suicidal purposes.
According to the preliminary report, Hernández Delgado —originally from El Cercado, Constanza municipality— was in a depressive state, which may have influenced her tragic decision. However, the specific reasons that led her to take her own life are unknown at this time.
Units from the National Emergency System 9-1-1, as well as members of the National Police, arrived at the scene, who cordoned off the area for the corresponding investigations. The medical examiner certified the death and the body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) in Santiago, where an autopsy will be performed.
Authorities reported that investigations continue to clarify the facts.
