Las Terrenas Municipality and Laka Group present proposals for the sustainable protection of the coasts

Samaná.- Through a public-private partnership, the City Council of Las Terrenas and the company Laka Group have presented a set of proposals aimed at the intervention, protection, and sustainability of the municipality's coastal area. During the meeting, the urgency of rethinking the traditional mechanisms used for coastal conservation was emphasized, which have proven to be inefficient and unsustainable in the long term. "It is time to reorient the solutions, to bet on an integral and responsible vision of coastal management," said Mayor Eduardo Polanco during his intervention.

As part of this initiative, work is being done on the development of an agenda to build a concrete action plan in conjunction with the competent institutions in the field. Local authorities made an open call to professionals, technicians, specialists, and experts on the subject to contribute their proposals and experiences in a participatory and transparent process.

“Nuestras playas son el mayor activo del municipio. Su preservación no puede esperar. Esta es una invitación a sumar esfuerzos, capacidades y compromiso por el bienestar de nuestro territorio”,

concluyó el representante del cabildo.
