Remains of Yostín Peralta, a child who was sexually abused and murdered by a former convict in Los Mina, are buried.

Santo Domingo. – With deep sorrow and displays of indignation, the remains of Yostín Peralta, the 10-year-old boy kidnapped and murdered after allegedly being sexually abused in the Puerto Rico sector of Los Mina, were buried this Monday afternoon. The minor, who had a special condition and would turn 11 on October 23rd, was buried in the San Vicente de Paúl cemetery, in the same sector, amidst the consternation of family, friends, and community members. Mayelin Peralta, the victim's mother, stated that the child's executioner, after committing the horrific crime, "passed through the area as if nothing had happened," and there the neighbors recognized him as the last person who had contact with the child.

“That child was loved by everyone in the community, we are heartbroken and helpless”, expressed Melida Pérez, a neighbor close to the family, who confessed that she had not been able to sleep since she learned of the tragedy.

During the burial, the president of the Los Mina Neighborhood Council, Rafael Green, asked that the full weight of the law fall on the alleged perpetrator. For the crime, José Antonio Glass was arrested, an ex-convict who, according to versions, had deceived the minor by offering him an ice cream before kidnapping him. The report from the Sub-Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Dicrim) indicated that the minor presented trauma to the neck of the minor. The Scientific Police collected a basketball that the child was playing with, a red pants, black flip-flops, a pen, and multicolored shorts.
