Telenoticias driver Aneudy García dies in traffic accident on Sabana Larga Avenue in the Ozama extension.

Santo Domingo. - Aneudy García, a driver for Telenoticias channel 11, died early this Thursday in a traffic accident on Sabana Larga Avenue corner Octavio Mejía Ricart, in the Ozama neighborhood of this municipality.

In the vehicle were technical personnel who had left minutes earlier from Telesistema, channel 11, located on 27 de Febrero Avenue, in front of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, working on the last edition of Telenoticias.

All of driver García's passengers, who were transporting him to their respective homes, were unharmed, although with some scratches.

According to one of the witnesses, the traffic accident occurred while the press vehicle was traveling north to south on Sabana Larga Avenue, when it was hit by the driver of an SUV, causing it to lose control and crash into a tree.

The identity of the jeep's driver and García's companions could not be established.

The accident occurred after 1:00 in the morning.

Paramedics from the 9.1.1 Emergency System, the Santo Domingo Este Fire Department, and the National Police arrived at the scene.

It took firefighters more than an hour to remove the body of the driver who was trapped between twisted metal of the press vehicle.

The jeep involved in the accident is a Hyundai Santa Fe, license plate G617523.

Some executives from the television station arrived at the scene after being informed of the tragedy.

Aneudy García, according to his Instagram account, was a photography lover.
