Two men arrested for human trafficking in San Juan de la Maguana

San Juan de la Maguana.-Authorities reported that two men were arrested on the San Juan-Azua highway section, in the El Banco community, while traveling in two vehicles with 08 Haitians in irregular migratory status.

Army members intercepted the vehicles in which Luis Rafael Suero and Andry Peña Montero were detained, aboard the Ford Escape jeep, black color, license plate G688848 and Toyota Corolla car, gray color, license plate A534081.

The jeep, in which the 08 undocumented immigrants were detained, specifically in the area known as El Muro, was driven by Suero while Peña Montero served as his escort in the other vehicle.

Foreigners will be handed over to the immigration authorities, while the detainees, both public sector employees, will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the appropriate purposes.
