US Embassy urges its citizens to avoid demonstration zones this Friday in Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo. – The United States Embassy in the Dominican Republic issued a security alert for its citizens due to a demonstration scheduled for next Friday, May 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM, in the capital city.

According to the official statement, the protest will begin at the metro station located on Abraham Lincoln Avenue, at the intersection with Correa y Cidrón Avenue, and will advance towards the National Congress, in the center of Santo Domingo.

The embassy recommends that U.S. citizens in the country avoid areas near public gatherings and exercise caution around large crowds, warning that even peaceful demonstrations can turn violent without prior notice.
