The couple owned a family home in Massachusetts and appeared in public images with their children at events and celebrations. On the other hand, Kristin Cabot is married to Andrew Cabot, CEO of the firm Privateer Rum, and the couple had acquired a new home in New Hampshire for a value exceeding 2 million dollars just a few months before. The controversy began days ago during one of the sold out concerts of Coldplay at the Gillette Stadium in Boston. There, the kiss cam turned to Andy Byron, 50, CEO of Astronomer, along with Kristin Cabot, 52, Head of Human Resources. As soon as they noticed their appearance on the giant stadium screen, both of them looked uncomfortable: Byron hid behind a barrier and Cabot covered his face. The very own Chris Martin intervened with a comment: “They are either having an affair or they are very shy”. The phrase sparked laughter in the audience and multiplied the impact on social media. A new recording, released by TMZ, offered a different angle on the couple. Byron is seen approaching Cabot to hug and kiss her, both relaxed among the crowd. None seemed to notice that they would be recorded in a private moment while thousands of followers illuminated the stadium with the flashlight of their phones during the song.After the video went viral and the labor and personal implications became known, Astronomer announced the resignation of Byron and the suspension of Cabot within the framework of an internal investigation.
In a statement, the company said: "Our leaders must set the standard in both conduct and responsibility, and recently that standard was not met. Andy Byron has resigned, and the Board of Directors has accepted it." The company also confirmed that its co-founder and chief product officer, Pete DeJoy, will take over as interim CEO.
