Omega “The Strong” conquers Europe with an explosive tour

Europe vibrated again to the rhythm of urban merengue with Omega “El Fuerte”, who officially began his European tour last Tuesday with a massive concert in Mogán (Gran Canaria), followed by a show in Fuerteventura that made thousands of fans dance. The Dominican star, who days earlier offered a preview of his musical strength in Naples, Italy, during the Alien Sound Festival, did not skimp on energy. In front of more than 20,000 people, Omega made it clear that his music transcends borders. “We are in Europe to show that urban merengue is for the people and for the world,” said the artist, with his characteristic style. Last Thursday, July 18, the performer of "Si no me amas" made La Nuit nightclub in Madrid vibrate, on a night where Caribbean energy reigned and the audience sang along to every song from beginning to end. The next day, the show moved to Talavera de la Reina, where once again an atmosphere of total euphoria was experienced. Omega, always direct, described the European reception with words full of enthusiasm and admiration for the crowd that accompanies him in each presentation. “What we are experiencing here is a movie. People in Europe treat me like I'm at home. One comes with humility and work, and look how everything happens. I came to represent my flag wherever there is an audience that wants to enjoy,” he said. With songs like “You want to, you don't want to”, “Chambonea”, “You are not for me”, “Owner” and “What do I have to do”, Omega put together a repertoire that mixed classics with his most recent hits, demonstrating that urban merengue continues to be a genre of international impact. After their performances in La Palma, Fuerteventura, Madrid and Talavera, Omega will continue their tour on July 25 in Turin (Italy), on the 26th in Seville (Spain) and on the 27th in San Benedetto (Italy), where full houses are expected. Omega's connection with the Old Continent is not new. In early 2025, the Dominican Consulate in Barcelona awarded him a distinction for his work as a cultural ambassador and for keeping merengue alive among the new generations of the diaspora. His previous tours in Spain, Italy, and Switzerland have had the same constant: crowds that follow him with fervor and stages that end up turning into a massive party. This year, the bet is even bigger, with a calendar that includes cities like Madrid, Valencia, Zurich, and Milan, under the production of Danny Productions, who highlights that the artist's reception has been "overwhelming". "Every time I go on a stage outside my country, I do so with the responsibility of upholding the name of the Dominican Republic," says the performer.
