Shakira postpones her concert in Los Angeles due to protests against ICE raids

Los Angeles (USA).- Shakira postponed her concert at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, originally scheduled for June 20, and rescheduled it for August 4. The decision is due to the ongoing demonstrations against the mass migration raids led by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as announced on the X account of the tour named 'Las mujeres ya no lloran'. In the same statement, the event organizers pointed out that, with the rescheduling of the concert, which had a total sale of its tickets, there is the possibility of announcing a second date. This postponement adds to the multiple cancellations and rescheduling of the Colombian's concerts, the most recent of which took place on May 31 in Washington, after the production of Shakira's tour could not be transported on time from the city of Boston, where another concert scheduled for May 29 had been canceled. The tour had already gotten off to a bad start months earlier, since the dates scheduled between November and December 2024 in the United States and Canada had to be rescheduled for 2025 due to high ticket demand and the organizers' decision to change the concert venues.

In an interview published by the BBC this Friday, the singer expressed her discontent with the country's immigration policy, and assured that currently being an immigrant in the U.S. "means living with constant fear," said Shakira. The Colombian also called for unity: "We must raise our voices and make it very clear that a country can change its migration policies, but the treatment of all people must always be humane," she told the media.
