In turn, the La Libertad region, in the north of the country, leads the decrease in cases, with a record of 12 fewer deaths compared to the same period in 2024.
They also decreased considerably in Amazonas, Arequipa, Junín, Ucayali, Piura and San Martín.

In addition, a Multisectoral Plan for the Prevention, Reduction of Maternal and Neonatal Mortality 2025-2030 is being formulated, in coordination with other ministries, to address the social determinants associated with maternal mortality.
This plan involves improving access to safe water, basic sanitation, road construction, and education, among other aspects.
In that sense, the coordinator of the Sexual and Reproductive Health Area of the Regional Health Directorate of Áncash, Liliam Rosales, indicated that to reduce maternal deaths, coordinated work with local authorities is key.
"We implement strategies, comprehensive care campaigns to the most remote and difficult-to-access places, we have also strengthened the capacities in prenatal care with the aim of identifying the risk factors of each pregnant woman," he commented.
