New York.- The U.S. special envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, announced this Friday that Israel and Syria reached a ceasefire agreement supported by the U.S. and accepted by Turkey.
"Israeli Prime Minister @Netanyahu and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa @SyPresidency, with the support of the US @SecRubio, agreed to a ceasefire, accepted by Turkey, Jordan and their neighbors," reported Barrack on his X profile. The U.S. ambassador to Turkey also called on the Druze, Bedouin, and Sunni populations to lay down their arms and, "together with other minorities, build a new Syrian identity united in peace and prosperity with their neighbors." This Thursday, Israel bombed the Al-Suwayda province in southern Syria again, despite the withdrawal of Syrian government troops from the region, following the Wednesday's ceasefire between them and the local factions they were fighting.Syria and Israel agree to a ceasefire with US support, according to Trump's special envoy
