Washington.- Representatives from the U.S. and Ukraine discussed in Miami the security guarantees to Kyiv within a peace plan with Russia promoted by Washington and the economic recovery of the European country after the end of the conflict, with emphasis on the definition of deadlines and the sequence of the next steps in the negotiation.
The U.S. special envoy, Steve Witkoff, recounted this Sunday on X the "productive and constructive" meetings of the last three days with his Ukrainian counterparts, which were attended by European allies "to coordinate a common strategic approach between Ukraine, the United States, and Europe."

"A separate constructive meeting in the United States–Ukraine format was also held, during which four key documents were discussed: the further development of a 20-point plan, the alignment of positions on a US security guarantee framework for Ukraine, and the future development of an economic and prosperity plan," he added. According to the envoy of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in the conversations "special attention was paid to the discussion of the deadlines and the sequence of the next steps to be taken. Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, met over the weekend in Miami with the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umérov, and the head of the Ukrainian General Staff, Andrí Gnátov. In parallel, Washington representatives maintained separate contacts with the Kremlin's emissary, Kiril Dmitriev, who assured this Saturday that the dialogue with the U.S. was proceeding "constructively" and would last until today, Sunday. In his message on X, Witkoff highlighted that Ukraine maintains its commitment to achieving a "just and sustainable peace" and that "the common priority is to stop the violence, ensure security and create the conditions for the long-term recovery, stability and prosperity of Ukraine." "Peace should not only be the cessation of hostilities, but also a solid foundation for a stable future", insisted the envoy, who did not refer in his publication to the meetings with Dmitriev. The U.S. representative indicated that Kyiv "greatly values the leadership and support of the United States, as well as the close coordination with its partners in the next stages of this important work."
