Trump says Israel agreed to initial withdrawal line in Gaza and calls on Hamas to accept

United States.- U.S. President Donald Trump announced this Saturday that Israel agreed to an "initial withdrawal line" in Gaza, which it has shared with Hamas, and called on the Palestinian group to accept the conditions to give way to an "immediate" ceasefire and the release of hostages and prisoners stipulated in its peace plan for the Strip. "Following negotiations, Israel has accepted the initial withdrawal line, which we have shown and shared with Hamas. When Hamas confirms it, the ceasefire will be IMMEDIATE, the exchange of hostages and prisoners will begin, and we will establish the conditions for the next phase of the withdrawal," Trump wrote on his Truth Social network. The U.S. president accompanied his message with a map of the besieged Palestinian enclave, showing the boundaries to which the Israeli army would initially have agreed to withdraw. Trump insisted that this cessation of hostilities "will bring the end of this 3,000-YEAR CATASTROPHE" and will bring peace to the Middle East. The U.S. president, who last Monday presented a 20-point peace plan, accepted by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, had already warned Hamas a few hours earlier that he "will not tolerate delays" that could jeopardize the peace agreement in Gaza.

"I appreciate that Israel has temporarily halted the bombings to give the opportunity to finalize the release of hostages and the peace agreement. Hamas must act quickly; otherwise, everything will be lost. I will not tolerate delays, as many believe will happen," he wrote in a previous message on Truth Social. Trump celebrated on Friday that Hamas agreed to release the Israeli hostages it holds in the Gaza Strip under the terms expressed in its proposal, and then asked Israel to cease the bombings of Gaza. The Republican president's 20-point plan proposes the immediate end of the war, the release of the Hamas hostages, and the formation of a transitional government for Gaza, overseen by the US president and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The proposal also contemplates the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip and the possibility of negotiating a Palestinian state in the future, something ruled out, however, by the Israeli prime minister. The White House confirmed that Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, is traveling this Saturday to Cairo, Egypt, to advance negotiations on the peace plan before its implementation.
