Chiang Mai, Thailand.- The Dominican Republic's women's sextet (Queens of the Caribbean) advanced early this Monday morning to the second round of the Volleyball World Championship, after defeating Mexico in three consecutive sets (25-15, 25-17 and 25-20), to put their record at (2-0) in a match corresponding to Group F, in the event organized by the International Volleyball Federation.

This Tuesday, the Dominican Republic team will have a free day on the calendar and will return to play on Wednesday the 27th when they face China at 8:30 in the morning. In the match statistics, the Dominican Republic dominated in attack 42-32, in blocks 6-3. Mexico now has a record of 0-2. In the third set, Mexico, with a strong serve, put up a better fight against the Dominicans, however, the Dominican Republic, with strong attacks from Brayelin Martínez, Yonkaira Peña and Gaila González, managed to make a 3-0 rally twice and another of 5-0 against their opponents, which was lethal in the result.
