Since the early hours of the morning, scattered cloud developments accompanied by showers, thunderstorms and wind gusts are occurring, mainly over the waters of the Caribbean Sea and provinces such as San Cristóbal, Peravia, Barahona, Pedernales without ruling out the GSD. These conditions are due to the humidity and instability provided by the active tropical wave, whose cloud bands continue to enter the country, generating heavy showers, wind gusts and occasional thunderstorms, which will be more frequent in the afternoon. If its organization continues, this tropical wave could become tropical cyclone # 11 named Melissa.

For tomorrow, Wednesday, the direct impact of this active tropical wave or possible tropical cyclone is forecast, which will be located south/southwest of the national territory. The effects of this phenomenon will be felt over a large part of the country, especially in the northeast, southeast, southwest, and northwest regions, as well as in the Central Mountain Range and the border area, where urban runoff and flash floods could occur. The population is advised to remain attentive to the evolution of this system and the information issued in our official bulletins.
