A 3.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded this Monday in the Portuguese Alentejo without causing any victims or material damage.
According to a statement from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the tremor occurred at 09:39 local time (same GMT time).
The epicenter was about 10 kilometers south of the town of Évora, capital of Alentejo, and about 100 kilometers from Badajoz (Extremadura, Spain).
The earthquake was felt with maximum intensity IV (modified Mercalli scale) in the municipality of Évora.
Early Saturday morning, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake, with its epicenter four kilometers southwest of Celorico da Beira, in northern Portugal, shook parts of the center and the northern half of Portugal.
