Abinader begins inaugurations this Thursday in Ciudad Juan Bosch with an investment of more than RD 2,300 million

Santo Domingo.– President Luis Abinader will inaugurate a series of works in Ciudad Juan Bosch that amount to more than RD$2,300 million pesos, starting with the La Gaviota amphitheater, built with an investment of RD 407,086,571.91. The work was developed by the Trust for the Construction of Low-Cost Housing of the Dominican Republic (VBC-RD), in coordination with Movexco Constructora, as part of a strategy that integrates housing, art, culture, sports, basic services, and community living spaces. The La Gaviota amphitheater consolidates Ciudad Juan Bosch as a benchmark for comprehensive urban development, access to culture, and quality public spaces, in line with the Dominican government's vision of promoting planned, inclusive, and sustainable communities. The urban transformation process in Ciudad Juan Bosch includes significant investments in sports, recreational, environmental, and sanitation infrastructure. Among these, the development of a modern sports complex incorporating multiple disciplines and recreational areas stands out, with an investment exceeding RD 478 million, as well as the first stage of the city's Ecological Park, conceived as a green lung and family recreation space, with an investment exceeding RD 412 million.

Strengthening basic services has been a priority, with the construction of the vitrified regulatory deposit No. 3 and its reinforced concrete pedestal, with an investment of more than RD 389 million, in addition to the commissioning of two wastewater treatment plants (PETAR Este and PETAR II), whose joint investment exceeds RD 322 million, which guarantees environmental sustainability and a better quality of life for residents. The urban planning of Ciudad Juan Bosch also includes meeting spaces and essential services for the community, such as the Plaza Urbana 20 de Diciembre Norte, developed in two stages with an investment exceeding RD 657 million, and the Funeraria Ciudad Juan Bosch, built with an investment that exceeds RD 64 million, expanding the coverage of community services.

“With these investments, we reaffirm that urban development is not limited to building houses, but to creating communities with cultural, sports, environmental spaces and services that dignify the lives of families. Ciudad Juan Bosch continues to consolidate itself as a model of planned and human city,” expressed Camel Curi Lora, executive director of the VBC-RD Trust.

Cultural activities for all audiences

The inauguration of the La Gaviota amphitheater will run from Thursday, February 12th to Sunday, February 15th, with a high-level artistic program, coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, which will turn this new space into the cultural epicenter of Ciudad Juan Bosch. During the opening days, the public will be able to enjoy symphonic concerts, contemporary dance presentations, choral performances, folkloric shows and innovative musical experiences, with the participation of the Santo Domingo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Koribe Chamber Choir, the National Contemporary Dance Company, the Herrera Free School, the Dominican National Folkloric Ballet and DJ Clara Egelmann Tolentino, among other artists. With these inaugurations, the Dominican Government reaffirms its commitment to sustainable urban development, culture, and the creation of public spaces that strengthen citizen coexistence and elevate the quality of life for families in Ciudad Juan Bosch and surrounding areas.
