Jerusalem.- The Israeli Army announced this Saturday the death in southern Lebanon of one of its soldiers despite the truce, which increases to fourteen the number of uniformed personnel who have died in the neighboring country since the beginning of the offensive.
According to a military statement, the soldier, identified as reserve sergeant Barak Kalfon, died in combat in an incident in which three other soldiers were injured, two of them with moderate injuries.
According to a military source told EFE, the incident occurred on Friday, when reserve troops of the 7056 battalion were conducting searches for weapons in a building in the town of Jibin, in the western sector of the south of the neighboring country.
During the inspection of the property, which was later identified as a structure with hidden explosives, an explosive device detonated, causing the death of the non-commissioned officer and injuries to the other three soldiers.
