The community of the municipal district of El Limón, in the province of Samaná, is experiencing growing concern due to the constant and prolonged power outages affecting the area, some of which extend for several consecutive hours.
The situation worsens even more today, as a blackout that covers the entire district has been ongoing since the afternoon and throughout the night, leaving residents, businesses, and tourist centers without electricity.
This issue not only negatively impacts the quality of life of residents, who face difficulties in carrying out their daily activities, but also represents a serious threat to local economic development. Businesses, small entrepreneurs and, especially, the tourism sector, are directly harmed by the instability of the electrical service.
El Limón, recognized for its tourism potential and its appeal to national and foreign investors, could experience a significant setback if this situation persists. The lack of a reliable energy supply generates uncertainty, limits business operations, and discourages new investments in the area.
