Dominicans transporting undocumented immigrants on motorcycles intercepted in Dajabón

Dajabón. – A patrol of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) intercepted fifteen (15) Haitian nationals in irregular migratory condition near the La Aminilla Military Post, during interdiction operations carried out in its area of responsibility in Dajabón. Military authorities intercepted five (05) motorcycles that were being used for the illegal transportation of foreigners. Of the total number of detainees, fourteen (14) are men and one (01) is a woman. At the time of the arrest, the motorcycles were being driven by Dominican citizens. Three (03) of the drivers managed to escape from the scene, while two (02) were arrested, including a minor and an adult.

Each driver was transporting three (03) undocumented Haitian nationals in their respective vehicle. The adult driver was identified as Javier Peralta, Dominican, 32 years old, residing in Dajabón, who did not carry identification documents. The identification of the minor is omitted for legal reasons. The detainees, along with the undocumented foreigners, were taken into custody in accordance with established procedures. The occupied motorcycles correspond to different brands and models, all black in color, which were seized as part of the investigative process.
