Edesur Dominicana reported that the process to install a new 24-30 MVA power transformer in the substation located at kilometer 10.5 of the Duarte Highway is progressing rapidly.
The electricity distribution company states that it seeks with the new equipment to provide greater power to the area, to avoid the interruptions that are currently occurring due to overload.
The powerful transformer will benefit more than 138,000 users in the municipalities of Santo Domingo Oeste, Los Alcarrizos and part of the National District.
It will also help overcome interruptions due to overload and provide greater stability and quality in the supply to the sectors Los Alameda, Los Peralejos, Los Girasoles, Altos de Arroyo Hondo, Carmen Renata III, Pantoja, Los Alcarrizos, Manoguayabo, Brisas del Norte, Holguín, La Venta, San Benito, Villa Aura, Las Caobas, Las Palmas de Herrera and Don Honorio.
With this initiative, Edesur reaffirms its commitment to the continuous improvement of the electrical service, addressing the needs of an area with population growth and high energy demand, and ensuring a more efficient service over the next three years (2026-2028).
