Santo Domingo.– The Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, reported this Monday on the dismantling of a criminal structure that operated in Elías Piña, during an intervention in which the alleged leader of the organization, identified as Ranfel Encarnación Vicente, died.
According to the authorities, the individual died along with another alleged criminal after being pursued and exchanging gunfire with National Police officers. The man, known by the alias "Rangel", was actively sought after having escaped while serving a 30-year sentence for various crimes.
In the same report, authorities alerted about the active search for Yunior Mena Vicente, identified as the second in command of the criminal structure and to whom multiple violent acts are attributed. The Police also requested citizen support to contribute to his location.

Furthermore, the authorities reported the dismantling of a network allegedly dedicated to the trafficking and exploitation of people in the municipality of Sosúa. During the operation, 58 Dominican women and 11 foreign women were rescued, who, according to preliminary investigations, were victims of sexual exploitation.
The National Police reiterated that it will continue to strengthen intelligence and criminal investigation efforts to confront organized crime structures and reinforce citizen security actions within the legal framework.
