Hato Mayor–Vicentillo Sports Festival announces millionaire prizes in beach volleyball

The organization of the Semana Santa Hato Mayor Sports Festival Mayor–Vicentillo 2026, exceeds RD$11 million, including prize payments in volleyball and other sports disciplines, technical team, support staff, press conferences, transportation, accommodation, equipment, supplies and administrative expenses. The prize money for 3-on-3 beach volleyball amounts to RD$2,237,000.00 (two million two hundred thirty-seven thousand pesos), which represents an increase of RD$773,000 (Seven hundred seventy-three thousand pesos), compared to the 2025 version, "for the gala of its 30th Anniversary". The tournament will be held from Friday, April 3rd to Sunday, April 5th, on the sand courts of Rancho Turístico Doña Callita. It is considered one of the most attractive events on the national sports calendar, during Holy Week, "due to the prizes for the winners, the level of its athletes and technical management."

The graduate Rubén Darío Cruz, president of the Organizing Committee, stated that the prizes for the winners from first to fourth place have the highest volume in the entire Caribbean and Central American region, with the motivation that at the end of the day, each of those who step onto the podium receives the amount won. In the free category, male and female, the champion team will receive RD$225,000, second place RD$150,000, third RD$100,000 and fourth RD$60,000, for a total of RD$1,170,000 in prizes. In the añejo division, in both branches, first place will get RD$150,000, second RD$90,000, third RD$60,000 and fourth RD$45,000, for a total of RD$345,000. The Super Master category, male only, will award RD$120,000 to the champion, RD$75,000 to second place, RD$45,000 to third place and RD$30,000 to fourth place, for a total of RD$270,000. In the regional category, both in the free female and male categories, the first place will be awarded RD$75,000, the second RD$45,000 and the third RD$25,000, provided that eight or more teams participate, for a total of RD$145,000 per category. In addition, the Organizing Committee will award RD$21,000 to the best female team and the best male team of Hato Mayor, as an incentive to highlight local talent, provided that three or more teams compete. The President of the Organizing Committee clarified that, to be eligible for the award in all categories and branches, a minimum of 11 teams must participate. With this prize structure and the expected participation of teams from different provinces, the beach volleyball of the Hato Mayor-Vicentillo Sports Festival promises a high level of competition, great appeal for the public and a true sports festival during Holy Week 2026.
