Santo Domingo.– The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), in coordination with the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic, marked a milestone last weekend with the realization of the “Curriculum Update Workshop”, in which more than 300 teachers of that important subject participated.
In the activity, organized by the Teaching Directorate of INEFI, headed by the licensed Orlando Taveras, at Coopmarena Beach Resort, Juan Dolio, some human skills that identify the Physical Education professional were highlighted, such as "collaborative work", "appreciation and respect for professional expression", "strategic coordination" and "quality operability".
The facilitators were doctors Iván Gómez, Anazario Rodríguez and Sandy Portorreal, as well as qualified teachers Nelson Acevedo, from the Curricular Direction of INEFI; Adelina Batista, Mariel Olivo, Francis Sano, Víctor de la Cruz, Uriel Díaz, Antonio Petilu and Niurka Sosa.

The licenciado Taveras thanked the executive director of INEFI, Alberto Rodríguez Mella, for the support provided to guarantee all aspects related to quality in terms of accommodation, food, hydration, and administrative services.
He emphasized that they maintain the commitment to improve the overall educational quality of students in the Dominican Republic, and that school Physical Education is not left behind in these processes.
He stated that, due to the multiplier effect that the workshop will have, it will positively impact Physical Education and, consequently, Dominican education.
During the momentous meeting, in which camaraderie prevailed, Mr. Taveras highlighted that they seek to "link in this way the criteria that will define Physical Education in the competency-based approach."
Also present were the teaching staff of INEFI, national teaching technicians, teaching directors, zonal directors, regional advisors, district technicians and a representation of teachers, with the aim of speaking the same language in terms of Physical Education.
The teachers had words of praise for the warm welcome they received at Coopmarena Beach Resort, as well as for the unconditional willingness of Taveras, whose human value, receptiveness, and management skills they highlighted.
