United Nations.- The Iranian government accused the United States on Saturday of "inciting instability and violence" in coordination with Israel, in a letter to the UN following the statements of US President Donald Trump about the Iranian protests. The Permanent Mission of Iran to the UN condemned the "persistent, illegal and irresponsible conduct of the United States", accusing it of "interfering in Iran's internal affairs through threats, incitement and the deliberate encouragement of instability and violence". In the missive, sent to the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, and the President of the Security Council, Abukar Dahir Osman, Iran maintained that the coordination between the United States and Israel is "evident", as shown by Trump's support for the "criminal" Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Fourteenth day of protests

"With inflammatory statements, political signals and public threats, they have encouraged violence, supported terrorist groups, incited social destabilization and sought to transform peaceful protests into violent disorder," said the text of the Iranian ambassador to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani. The letter transcends as the Iranian Army, where telecommunications continue to fail on the fourteenth day of protests, assured this Saturday that it will seriously confront any "plot" sponsored by the United States to incite instability and disrupt the security of the Islamic Republic. Trump has warned of a possible intervention in Iran due to the violence against the protesters, as at least 51 people have died since December 28, according to reports this Friday from the civil organization Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO), based in Oslo, Norway.

In this context, Iran now insisted that the United States has "violated" the charter of the United Nations for "interfering" in the country. «The transformation of peaceful protests into violent and subversive acts, and widespread vandalism constitute a direct and predictable consequence of such policies. The complete responsibility for its consequences corresponds entirely and unequivocally to the United States», concluded the letter.
