The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and SMEs (MICM), through the Specialized Corps for Fuel and Merchandise Trade Control (CECCOM), proceeded to close a fuel dispensing station in the municipality of Castañuelas, Montecristi province, after laboratory tests confirmed that the gasoline they were selling as premium did not meet the minimum required quality.
The station's closure was carried out during an inspection led by technicians from the MICM and members of CECCOM. Following an inspection in which samples were taken from the fuel they were selling.
Given this failure to meet the required quality standards, the authorities immediately proceeded to suspend the establishment's operations, recording the action in the corresponding minutes for the relevant legal purposes.
The MICM and CECCOM maintain a continuous monitoring program throughout the national territory, through which periodic inspections are carried out. These actions allow the identification and sanctioning of natural and legal persons who operate fuel stations or storage tanks irregularly, for commercialization purposes.
Authorities reiterate their commitment to guarantee the quality of fuels and the safety of consumers, as well as to combat any practice that violates the provisions established in the sector.
