OPRET temporarily suspends Metro service between Gregorio Urbano Gilbert and Mamá Tingó for maintenance

Santo Domingo.– The Office for the Reordering of Transportation (OPRET) reported the temporary suspension of the Santo Domingo Metro service, on Line 1 between the Gregorio Urbano Gilbert and Mamá Tingó stations, due to maintenance work.

Through a statement issued this Friday, January 2nd, the institution explained that the measure was adopted to guarantee the safety of users during the execution of the scheduled maintenance work, which is carried out taking advantage of the low flow of passengers.

As part of the contingency plan, OPRET announced that free bus services from the Metropolitan Bus Services Operator (OMSA) will be enabled to cover the affected section, specifically between the Hermanas Mirabal and Mamá Tingó stations.

The entity apologized for the inconveniences that this suspension may cause to users and thanked the citizenry for their understanding. The Metro service will be restored regularly on Saturday, January 3, starting at 5:30 in the morning, according to the official statement.
