Santo Domingo Hotels Association will hold the fifth edition of “SDQ Mice 2025”

Santo Domingo. - The Santo Domingo Hotels Association (Ahsd) will hold its fifth edition of the "SDQ MICE 2025" fair from September 10 to 12, the main event specializing in meeting tourism, incentives, congresses and exhibitions in the country, at the Crowne Plaza Santo Domingo Hotel, with complementary activities in different venues in the city. This year, the event will feature a collaboration agreement with the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), the largest international network of specialists in the meetings industry, according to an alliance of the Hotel Association and the Santo Domingo Tourist Cluster to boost the Capital in a position of global visibility, facilitating access to training, innovation and global contacts, reported Yudit García, president of the AHSD. He highlighted that the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) is an integral part of this initiative, as the main sponsor and strategic ally, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening meeting tourism as a means of diversification and sustainability of the destination. The president of AHSD stated that the technical coordination and program design have the experience of Elizabeth Tovar, president of the company Turenlaces and a recognized regional leader in the organization of congresses and events. From her side, Fabeth Martínez, executive director of the AHSD and CTSD, specified that "the academic program of this edition has been carefully designed to promote the city's offer and enhance the professionalization of all actors involved in the meetings industry." He highlighted that "Sdq Mice" has established itself as a meeting and learning space that involves the entire value chain of the sector, integrating hoteliers, professional congress organizers, receptive operators, service providers, students, and authorities. Finally, the CEO of Ahsd emphasized that a collaborative ecosystem is the basis for continuing to position Santo Domingo as the business and events capital of the Caribbean. A very specialized academic program: The agenda of the “Sdq Mice 2025” combines training, innovation, and business with international experts, including the course “Meetings Industry 360”, taught by Eduardo Yarto, endorsed by Pcma and with Cmp certification; and the conference “Strategic Connections”, led by Derrick Johnson, Director of Event Programming at Shrm.

In addition, the panel "Destination Marketing: The Santo Domingo model for sustainable success in events", with consultant Brenda Balmares; and the session "How to turn Data into Emotion?: The power of Customer Experience in event design", by Daniela Caballero, business events consultant in the pharmaceutical industry. Also, the conference "Artificial intelligence and the tools of the future" will be held, with Jesús Martínez, CEO of the company ëventum meetings; and Keynote "Manage or Fall in Love: Empathetic Leadership to create new ways of working", by Juan Fernando Dávila, CEO of The Line Group. In parallel, the Business Workshop Sdq Mice will be held, which will bring together local suppliers such as hoteliers, Professional Congress Organizers (PCOs), Incoming Tourism Companies (DMCs) and airlines, with international buyers (Hosted buyers), in B2B business rounds, with pre-established meeting agendas. Ideal spaces have been designed to promote networking and professional relationships between participants. The program includes Future Leaders Mice and value chain. In this edition, it will continue to promote integration through education and experience, for which we have a program for Future Leaders, university students, young talents who are training to join the meetings industry, creating a space for learning and interaction with international experts. Sdq Mice is a platform designed to connect, generate synergies and business opportunities, but at the same time to enhance the destination, through cultural, historical, gastronomic and service attractions. It promotes the authenticity and values that differentiate us, which is why it includes an accessibility program, as well as a cultural space with music, gastronomy, dance, crafts, through Turizoneando, coordinated by the Santo Domingo Tourist Cluster and Mitur.

The event features a familiarization program with the destination, through various activities designed to combine spaces with experiences in different areas of the city, including a tour of the Colonial Zone that will be coordinated by the Integral Program for Tourism and Urban Development of Ciudad Colonial (Pidtucc). Among the familiarization and social activities, they will take place at the Crowne Plaza Santo Domingo, Kimpton Las Mercedes, Embassy Suites by Hilton, and Real Intercontinental hotels. It concludes with a post-tour to the Dreams Cap Cana hotel, for international buyers, as part of the destination's comprehensive promotion strategy.
