Shooting and accident in Massachusetts leaves two young people dead, including a Dominican

Lawrence, Massachusetts. – A violent event that occurred last Thursday night ended in tragedy after a shooting caused a traffic accident that left two young people dead, including a citizen of Dominican origin. The victim was identified as Alexander Carvajal Mena, 20 years old, who was traveling in a vehicle with his partner, also 20 years old, whose identity has not been disclosed by the authorities. According to preliminary reports, both were found with gunshot wounds inside a jeep following an incident recorded on Erving Avenue, near Short Street, around 9:20 p.m. The young woman died at the scene, while Carvajal Mena was taken in critical condition to a health center in Boston by helicopter, where he later died from his injuries.

The authorities in Essex County are keeping an investigation open to clarify what happened and determine the circumstances surrounding both the shooting and the crash. So far, no details have been offered about possible perpetrators, nor has the involvement of third parties been confirmed. Images captured by residents of the area show emergency teams working at the scene, trying to assist the victims amidst an atmosphere of tension and disorder. The case is still under investigation.
