Santo Domingo, RD. – The Dominican government will hold a meeting this Monday with representatives of the transportation sector, with the aim of analyzing the impact of rising fuel prices on the national economy.
The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, informed that the meeting is part of a set of actions that seek to follow up on the international situation that affects fuel prices.
The official explained that the increase in fuel prices is mainly due to external factors, such as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which have generated pressure in the energy markets globally.
He indicated that the Government is constantly monitoring the economic and social effects, especially in sensitive sectors such as transportation, and reiterated the authorities' commitment to implement measures that contribute to mitigating the impact on the population.
