A Southwest Airlines flight covering the route between Nashville and Fort Lauderdale was diverted to Atlanta after a suspected bomb threat was reported on board the aircraft, which activated a large security operation. The incident occurred with flight 2094, which was carrying more than 140 passengers. The crew notified the authorities about a security alert during the flight, which forced the plane to make an emergency landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport around 9:06 p.m.. After landing, police units and federal agents boarded the plane to inspect the aircraft and passengers' luggage. During the operation, a passenger was removed from the plane by the authorities for questioning while the corresponding inspections were carried out. Videos recorded by passengers and shared on social media showed moments of tension inside the plane, where some travelers were instructed to keep their hands up while the authorities intervened in the situation.

Subsequently, the FBI reported that, after a complete review of the plane and passengers' belongings, no credible threat or explosives were found on board. Following the security operation, the passengers were transferred to another plane to continue their journey to Fort Lauderdale, arriving at their destination several hours later than planned. The airline stated in a press release that the decision to divert the flight was made as a precautionary measure, reiterating that the safety of passengers and crew is its top priority.
