Washington, Dec 13 (EFE).- The suspect in the shooting recorded this Saturday on the campus of Brown University in the city of Providence, in the state of Rhode Island, was arrested, announced the President of the USA, Donald Trump.
"I have been informed about the shooting that took place at Brown University, in Rhode Island. The FBI is on the scene. The suspect is in custody. God bless the victims and their families!" Trump announced in a message on his social network, Truth Social.
The university reported that the "situation continues" after more than an hour since the first alert.
"There is an active shooter near Barus & Holley. Brown and Providence police are on the scene. Remain sheltered in place at this time," the university warned in an alert sent to students.

The authorities did not confirm whether there are any injuries or fatalities, but the university announced that there are emergency medical services on site. The study center is coordinating with "multiple police agencies on the scene". "Close the doors, silence the phones, and remain hidden until further notice.
