Santo Domingo.– Communicator Yulay Piña announced this Wednesday the women who will be part of her new media proposal “Las Desempoderadas” (The Disempowered), a project that has sparked curiosity and generated diverse reactions on social media since the beginning of its promotional campaign.
Piña announced that she will share this space with communicator Cristal Sánchez, a member of the radio program “La UCA,” and psychologist, speaker, and content creator Melissa Pol.
Although not all the details regarding the format and content of the initiative have been revealed yet, the posts shared on the project’s digital platforms have sparked multiple speculations among followers and internet users, who believe it could be a podcast or a space for dialogue focused on topics related to romantic relationships, emotional well-being, and personal development.
One of the first promotional audiovisuals included a conversation between Yulay Piña and announcer Robert Sánchez, in which the communicator defined “Las Desempoderadas” as a movement oriented towards reclaiming traditional roles within relationships, highlighting the importance of care, protection, and complementarity between men and women.

The official presentation of Melissa Pol and Cristal Sánchez was accompanied by a message that raises a reflection on the social expectations imposed on women in recent years.
“We were told that to be valuable we had to be able to handle everything. To be strong. To not need anyone. To compete. To prove ourselves,” expresses part of the text published on the project’s official account.
The publication also points out that “Las Desempoderadas” seeks to become an open space to debate ideas, question beliefs, and promote conversations from different perspectives on the role of women in today’s society.
