The Dominican Republic Navy conducted an operation over the weekend at Palmar de Ocoa beach, Peravia province, where it detained several people along with their aquatic equipment (Jet Skis) because they were being driven recklessly.
Likewise, said equipment was driven in the vicinity of the area intended for bathers and maritime traffic.
The Navy also reported that the detained equipment and its operators will be sanctioned in accordance with national laws and administrative provisions issued by the Naval Command of Port Captaincies and Maritime Authority.
They also said that these actions are carried out by order of Vice Admiral Juan B. Crisóstomo Martínez, Commander General of the Navy, within the framework of his mission to safeguard human life at sea and guarantee maritime safety in the jurisdictional waters of the country,
The institution reiterated its commitment to maintain an active, dissuasive, and preventive presence throughout the coastal area and area of responsibility to ensure compliance with current rules and laws.
