Training begins for the Teacher Performance Evaluation in Monte Plata

Monte Plata.- Regional Education 17 began a three-day in-person training session for 70 regional and district technicians who will perform the function of Peer Evaluators in the Teacher Performance Evaluation (EDD 2026) process. The event featured the intervention of the Vice Minister of Accreditation and Teacher Certification of the Ministry of Education (MINERD), Francisco Germán D'Oleo, who thanked the participants for their commitment and highlighted the strategic nature of this action.

“You have an ethical and moral responsibility, because you will be the ones who evaluate the teachers in the classroom, and that perception you record must objectively reflect the reality of the teacher's pedagogical and methodological behavior,” emphasized D´Oleo.

In addition, the Vice Minister emphasized that objectivity in the collection of information is fundamental, as the educational quality improvement plans will depend on these records. He also reported that the Teacher Performance Evaluation process will impact more than 115,000 teachers in the Dominican educational system, and that the fourth phase recently started already shows a 12% positive progress.

With this strategic action, the MINERD reaffirms its commitment to guaranteeing rigor and quality in the evaluation of teaching staff, aligned with disciplinary and pedagogical competencies, under established protocols to strengthen Dominican education.
