San José.- A Costa Rican court began this Wednesday the trial against a man identified as Jeremy Buzano as a suspect in the murder of his partner Nadia Peraza, in a femicide that shook the country in 2024 due to the degree of violence.
The accusation points to the 26-year-old suspect for murdering his partner and then impersonating her on social media and in text messages from her mobile phone, as well as using her bank cards.
The suspect faces a charge of femicide (a crime punishable in Costa Rica with up to 35 years in prison), one of patrimonial subtraction, 11 of computer fraud and 8 for identity theft to the detriment of his partner Nadia Peraza, who at the time of the events was 21 years old.
The case came to light in May 2024 when the authorities arrested the suspect and found the body.
The young woman, who had a daughter with the accused, was reported missing on March 1, 2024, and was last seen alive by her family on February 20 of that year in a community in the province of Heredia, in the center of the country.
