Santo Domingo.– The Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, reported this Monday that the accumulated homicide rate in the country remains at 7.75%, with a significant reduction so far in May, standing at 3.77%, one of the lowest figures reported by the Joint Task Force.

In his speech during the weekly press conference, Raful highlighted that 24 provinces currently register a single-digit homicide rate, including Hermanas Mirabal and Santiago Rodríguez, which have not reported any cases so far this year. “The goal is clear: that no citizen be a victim of a homicide,” he pointed out.

In addition, the official presented data on ongoing operational actions. The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) has executed 3,790 operations this year, and more than 29,000 judicial orders remain active. In the migratory field, Raful revealed that between May 1 and 11, 8,170 Haitian citizens were repatriated, as part of the interdiction schedule that will continue to be applied in accordance with due process.
